USA/CANADA PEER SUPPORT GROUPS

FND Hope US & Canada Virtual FND Peer Support Groups are for individuals of all ages with FND, as well as families, friends, and care partners of those with FND.

MINDFULNESS FOR POSITIVE SELF-COACHING

FND Hope Canada and FND Hope US are are delighted to collaborate with Irene Roura Garcia to offer a 3 week online Mindfulness for Positive Self-Coaching Course. Irene is a professional nurse, well-being coach and hypnotherapist. She has worked as a nurse at a neuropsychiatric ward in England for the last 5 years and in the last couple of years she has been collaborating with FND charities offering mindfulness courses to people with FND.

We hope you enjoy the course, and look forward to receiving your feedback to discuss future courses.

Peer-to-peer support meetings for those diagnosed with FND and/or their caregivers.  Colorado Support Group is facilitated by FND Hope volunteers living in Colorado.

COOKFULNESS

Join FND Hope for a FREE, online, six-week cooking course based on the book, Cookfulness. This course is designed for people who may suffer from an illness or disability, but WANT to cook and LOVE to cook! If you want the amazing therapeutic value cooking can provide or need a little help in the kitchen, then this course is for you!

VIRTUAL ART THERAPY
JANUARY 18th – MARCH 8TH
Through metaphor and a positive art therapy framework, art therapy interns, Tyler Burke and Jessica Clarke, will facilitate weekly opportunities to connect with themes of chronic sorrow and living grief which can affect those with an FND diagnosis or in a caregiving role.

Rally for Medical Research

September 18, 2019, FND Hope delegates Sara and Alana joined others from across the nation to Rally for Medical Research. Both advocated for FND on Capitol Hill.

Cleveland Clinic Patient Meeting

September 19, 2019, kicked off the first in-person patient meeting at the Cleveland Clinic. Approximately 20 patients and family members gathered to talk FND. Cleveland patients were the first to receive the new FND Patient Booklet. Great discussions were had and new friendships emerged. The event was a great way for individuals with FND, their families and medical professionals to support one another.

Restoring Neurological Function -Cleveland Clinic

September 19, 2019, FND Hope International ‘s CEO/ Founder Bridget Mildon spoke to attendees highlighting how perspectives of FND have influenced how others approach the illness and those with the diagnosis. Mildon shared the lived experiences of several patients and their barriers to care. Mildon continued to emphasize how changing perspective could potentially improve patient care.
