Who Are We

About FND Hope International

FND Hope International is the first and only global charity for people with Functional Neurological Disorder. Originating as a grassroots campaign, it uncovers the hidden world of FND and empowers those affected to live their best possible life.

April 30, 2012, FND Hope was created to unite people diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder [FND]/Conversion Disorder [CD].  Our website, fndhope.org, was just the beginning of what later became the first registered charity in the world advocating for those with functional symptoms. Content for fndhope.org is written by patients, caregivers, advocates, and doctors/researchers who come together to promote better treatment and care for those battling FND.

FND Hope’s Global Initiative

FND Hope International, FND Hope US, FND Hope UK, FND Hope Canada, and FND Hope Australia are all committed to the health and well-being of those with functional symptoms. We have joined forces with others in a global network to advocate best practices for ethical patient-centered care for FND. We aim to change how functional symptoms are understood and defined globally and work in a concerted manner to advocate for the men, women, and children who have had their lives turned upside by physical and often debilitating functional symptoms. FND Hope and affiliates provide current information and dispel biased stereotypes and myths.

Together, we are a force for change, uniting the FND community in the pursuit of empowering and improving the health of those diagnosed with FND. Since our website went live on the 13th of April, we have become a fast-growing community.

What We Do

Through our support pages we, at FND Hope, welcome each individual into a place where they feel a sense of  belonging. We unite patients and their families with leading researchers and advocates to pioneer a new standard of care for FND throughout the world.

We give our members a voice. We lend them our ear. We give everyone a place to call their own and a place to feel secure. We give people the courage to keep going and the strength they need to endure each day.

Most of all, though…

We give them hope.
